Just Cause 2 Includes Hidden Easter Eggs from Lost TV Show
by Eric Bush
One of my favorite television shows currently out there right now is Lost, and unfortunately there are only a couple more episodes before the series-finale. The recently released Just Cause 2 decided to capitalize on this cultural event and place some of the coolest hidden easter eggs throughout the gameplay experience (an island that looks exactly like a dollar sign). It's obvious the development team over at Eidos UK are some hardcore Lost fans, including plot points from the 50+ episode TV show that only real fans would get. None of the easter eggs are exactly easy to find, there are a couple hints here and there but to find all of the hidden things it took me a couple hours.
We have embedded a trailer below that shows-off each and every one of the Lost easter eggs but finding them for yourself has such a pay-off that I have to recommend it to all Lost fans out there, even if you have to go out and purchase a copy of Just Cause 2 for that single reason. The game is made up of a huge amount of ocean and land-mass, with one special island in the far left corner of the map. Jump in any plane available in Just Cause 2 and as soon as you get near the Lost island creepy music will begin in the background and it will start raining/lightning; as you near the beach your aircraft will burst into flames (similar to Oceanic Flight 815 from the show). The only option is to parachute down to the Lost island and start exploring; I don't want to go into much more detail but the developers included both a wrecked plane and the hatch from the first season of Lost - hidden on the deserted island inside a virtual video game. If you don't want to spoil it we have posted a picture below that shows the location of the island on the map, but the video itself (set to Lost music) is pretty cool; I have to say kudos to the Just Cause 2 team for creating something so enjoyable and adding in easter eggs that really offer the payoff players hope when working so hard to find something hidden.
