SEGA Studios San Francisco (Iron Man 2) Closing It's Doors
by Eric Bush
It's always sad to learn that a video game developer is closing shop, this past weekend that is exactly what happened over at SEGA Studios San Francisco, the team behind Golden Axe: Beast Rider and the Iron Man franchise. An official representative from the company stated that the closing would not effect the upcoming release of Iron Man 2 and that it will be ready for its early May release. We can only guess if this is a sign of things to come at SEGA, turning the company into more of a publisher than developer. Check out an official statement from SEGA below:
"SEGA of America is sad to announce the closure of SEGA Studios San Francisco. It is an immensely talented studio and we wish all the best to all of the staff in all their future endeavors," the company said in a statement. "Moving forward, SEGA will continue to pursue external development opportunities all over the world and will continue to grow the renowned SEGA brand."
