Locust Stampede: In GoW2 we saw large groups of Locust that could be killed from a distance usually from a vehicle turret. It gave us a glimpse of things to come, such as large scale battles against the opposition. This would go hand in hand with the four player co-op if you and three others fought in a large area against a horde of Locust. It would lend to some intense moments throughout the campaign if the COGs were outnumbered 40 to 4. We wouldn’t want to see it too often, as it would most likely deviate from what GoW has become but we would love to see a landscape covered in Locust corpses from large scale battles, especially if Horde mode included some of these epic battles

Tools of Death: GoW has always lacked something that it seems like it would most certainly benefit from, a weapons upgrading system. If only you could swap out rusty lancer blades for a nice new shiny set of chainsaw teeth for cutting locust like butter, or different types of ammo that can be bought. Even upgrades to the active reloading mechanic would be interesting to see. It’s hard to say whether or not a system like this would work in GoW, but as long as it was well balanced we would all love to see our favorite guns become bigger and better. It would at least add some much needed variation to the limited weapons count that the series has reached. Which brings us to our next point, GoW needs more weapons. We don’t want a ton more, but just enough that the game remains well-balanced. It is fairly obvious that more will be added, but it never hurts to ask.
The Enemy of My Enemy is My Other Enemy: The Lambent Locusts started to become a much bigger problem for Marcus as well as the normal Locust towards the end of GoW2. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in GoW3 but hopefully it will mean a bigger variation of enemies. The Locust have all been very similar throughout the first two titles, with a very small number of variations. With the addition of the lambent, or the infected Locust we can hope to see mutated Locust included the possibility of a Locust with tentacles that has the ability to reach over cover. But it will also be interesting to see how this plays out throughout the game. Will the non-infected Locust join up with Marcus? Playable Locust in the campaign? It could happen, but it sounds a lot like Halo 3 at that point, but if Epic can keep it fresh, why not?

Gears of War 3 has a lot of potential. The first two were excellent until the end, which usually fell flat on its’ face. We can only hope that when GoW3 releases in April 2011 it will be bigger, bolder and bloodier and that it can be experienced amongst yourself and three other friends.
