3. Ikaruga (Xbox LIVE Arcade) – Unstoppable: The now-classic arcade shooter Ikaruga is legendary for its difficulty, which, unlike many other difficult games, is truly challenging rather than frustrating; in other words it is surmountable. Those who have surmounted the challenge of Ikaruga most definitely fall into the badass category. One way to prove yourself as a badass, then, is to complete Ikaruga without using a single continue. If you’ve played Ikaruga, you know how difficult this is…but don’t give up. The Japanese arcade hit Ikaruga comes to Xbox LIVE® Arcade! Treasure's award-winning scrolling shooter brings a tactical twist to the genre with its yin-and-yang gameplay: the color of your ship determines your effect on enemies. In this polarized system, enemy ships and their bullets are one of two colors.

2. Gears of War – Seriously…: Most kill-count Achievements are pretty mundane, but the 10,000 multiplayer kill-count Achievement for Gears of War is truly a claim to fame to achieve, by virtue of its sheer magnitude. This obviously involves a lot of playing. I always wondered what followed the ellipsis after Seriously…maybe it means “seriously, stop playing and go outside?” I would think after achieving this feat, that would be sound advice.

1. BioShock 2 – Big Brass Balls: The name of this Achievement says it all. Completing BioShock 2 on its hardest difficulty without the use of Vita-Chambers is definitely a feat worth advertising, and with the intensity of combat that BioShock 2 provides, it’s no small task. Defending Little Sisters is not the easiest thing in the world, so if you manage to defend Little Sisters throughout the whole game at its highest difficulty without dying, then you can beyond doubt call yourself a Big Daddy.
