Assault Heroes is Out Now, Bring a Friend

The cornucopia of original game content continues on the Xbox Live Arcade, with combat 4x4 game Assault Heroes as one more treat for those of us who are not so impressed by retro repeats.  The game is an intense top-down shooter that borrows a lot from older games, but serves it up with some impressive graphics and a fun vibe.  I wouldn't call it revolutionary, but it sure was fun.

The game really takes off when you get a buddy to play it with you in co-op mode.  Multiplayer caps out at 2, but the limit is understandable considering how confusing the game could get with too many players on screen at once.  Assault Heroes might be a bit too easy with help from a friend, but it ups the fun factor quite a bit.

Based on the demo alone, I wouldn't say this game could keep you busy forever, but as a team effort I could see this helping you pass the night away when the hot girl you're trying to get a date with refuses to return your calls.
