Responding to a huge rumor stream started by a Belgian blogger, Frankie from Bungie
released an official posting to deal with the false information and actual contents of the upcoming Halo 3 documentary. Frankie confirmed that there would be a documentary arriving shortly on the Xbox Live Marketplace and that it would be in glorious 720p and surround sound.
Though many fans thought playable Brutes would be an exciting twist, Frankie responded to the speculation by saying "The fact is, Brutes in Halo 3 will be significantly more exciting, clever, graphically impressive, terrifying, numerous and angrier than in Halo 2, but they won't be playable, especially since you, in the role of Master Chief, will be spending a significant amount of effort and ammunition reducing their population."
Frankie also let on that the doc would focus heavily on the Campaign mode, and would include some surprises that he couldn't get into just yet. As for Halo fans who don't yet have a 360, "don't panic. We love you, and we're going to ensure that everyone gets to see it next week. Just know that the 360 version will have the best resolution for pausing, staring at something and saying, 'Is that what I think it is!?'"
