An announcement of a new Grand Theft Auto game could be coming a lot sooner than you would think, as rumors begin to swirl on the setting of the next installment. Gaming website vg24/7 seems to have stumbled onto some rumors that GTA V will take place around the massive city that is Los Angeles, with Hollywood being the stage. vg24/7 likes to put their rumors into a dialogue format, so here’s the segment from their post that covers the rumors: “It’s GTA V.” “About time.” “It’s not easy.” “I know. Did you get the setting?” “Yeah, I did.” “And?” “It’s set in Hollywood.”
The rumors also seem to place a possible announcement alongside Rockstar’s upcoming reveal of Max Payne 3. While we have seen Rockstar’s interpretation of Hollywood in San Andreas, a GTA focused on the glitz, glamour and grit of Hollywood could be pretty interesting. Rockstar has stated they will not comment on rumors or speculation per usual, so we can only hope that we’ll get a tease of the game later this year.
