Star Trek: Legacy Reviewby Ian Moore
Multiplayer action is available over Xbox Live. You can play with up to four other adversary’s. The game allows you to choose your race and what ships in your fleet you will use. In the limited time I played on Live it appeared to me that the majority of participants used the Borg Tactical Cube. I tried it and it certainly packs a punch. This is also a fairly “pleasant” community but they have a level of expectation that you understand how to play. There is no after game lobby allowing the same people to replay the game. You must re-launch a game and reconnect with your friends, why can’t developers get this part of the game figured out though? It is unforgivable.
When I asked my brother in law what he thought of this game he stated the following, “all show and no go” - Jim Murphy. I think that he was mostly correct. Given more time with the game I sure he would have said “some show and no go”. Non-fans of the series will probably not enjoy this game. This game will most certainly appeal to some hardcore trek fans. It has moments that are great, but a wonderful soundtrack cannot overcome mediocre graphics and maddening game play.
