Krome, developer of the recent release Game Room on Xbox LIVE is facing a bleak future with the possibility of having to lay off another portion of their staff. Krome was in the news not too long ago with layoffs and it looks like things are continuing downhill for the Australian-based developer.
Krome has three development studios, all of which have been put on a four-week notice according to an official statement sent to Gamespot AU. At the end of this four-week period it will be determined what will become of each studio and its staff.
The portion from the statement reads "As we have seen by other recent announcements, the games industry is still going through economic challenges which Krome is not immune from. These times are challenging and as a result, we have put some of our staff on notice pending the outcome of a number of upcoming projects." While Krome is not halting production on their unannounced projects, these projects will determine the outcome of each studio in the coming weeks. It’s too bad to see Krome taking so many hits, but it’s proof that we are still living in challenging economic times. Best wishes to those at Krome in the coming weeks.
