Epic Games and publisher Microsoft Games today announced that one of the most-anticipated Xbox 360 exclusives of next year, Gears of War 3, will be delayed from its current release date of April 2011 to sometime in Fall of 2011. It was a big deal with head designer Cliff Blezinski revealed the early 2011 release date for the third game in one of the Xbox 360's top-selling video game franchises on an episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon a couple months ago. Sadly that was probably a bit too close to another epic shooter, titled Bulletstorm, which is set to release in February 2011. No exact reason was given but in the end we will still be playing Gears of War 3 sometime next year and if the delay gives Epic a few more months of polish time we doubt anyone will be complaining once it finally hits store shelves. An official date was not given but our guess is that it will land around August or September of 2011, which does seem very far away. Hopefully Gears 3 will be worth the wait; stay tuned for more information on this depressing news as it's revealed.
