Remedy forwarded us some new details, screenshots, and a trailer for the upcoming and final Alan Wake add-on titled The Writer, which will go Live on the Xbox 360 marketplace October 12, 2010 for a cost of 560 Microsoft Points (about $7). In the second downloadable content pack, Wake fights for his life in an increasingly surreal and treacherous world where nightmares are reality, and the greatest danger comes from within. His only hope of survival is the Writer. Click on the image below to see the entire gallery of new Alan Wake: The Writer DLC screenshots, the HD trailer is also embedded after the image.
"The Writer" concludes the new sequence we started with our previous DLC, "The Signal." Previously, Alan Wake was struggling to make sense of his surroundings in the nightmarish reality he found himself in. In "The Writer," he starts to fight back - but it isn't easy. Guided by the mysterious Diver, Thomas Zane, he makes a desperate attempt to reclaim his sanity and take control of his life. In order to do so, he must navigate a landscape that's at the same time intimately familiar and frighteningly alien, and resist the temptation to succumb to the darkness that still haunts his thoughts.
In the "The Writer," the world has become more imaginative and surprising than ever, featuring impressive and atmospheric environments that illustrate precisely how far from his comfort zone Wake has been taken, and how dangerous the threat that haunts him truly is.
