Battlestations: Midway Demo Coming This Week

If you're heartbroken over the Crackdown demo delay or you can't wait two weeks for the release of the upcoming naval combat gamer from Eidos, you may find a consolation prize in the form of a demo by week's end.  Gamespot is reporting that a multiplayer demo will be hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace this week.

The demo will feature one map based on the Solomon Islands, the site of a major assault by United States Marines against entrenched Japanese forces.  You might know the Solomons from the major battle and largest island, Guadalcanal.  The demo lets you try out different vehicles to destroy the enemy's naval base, air base and aircraft carrier.

If you were in the mood for Crackdown, this demo will be cold comfort, but if you just want something else free to play around with, Eidos Interactive may have just what you need.
