Guitar Hero Gets a New Developerby Nelson Rodriguez
Revolutionary rhythm game Guitar Hero introduced a new way to play video games, and an entirely new controllerto go with it. The success of the game has not stopped publisher Activision from nudging Harmonix out of lead guitar. The new frontman for Guitar Hero is Neversoft, the developer of Project 8 and Gun.
Guitar Hero 2 has already sold over a million units, and it hasn't even been made available for the Xbox 360 yet. There is no official word as to why the switch was made, but Neversoft is already advertising on its website to bulk up staff specifically to work on the next version of Guitar Hero.
There have been rumors of a 1980's themed sequel for the title, and maybe the developer swap has something to do with that. Or it could be that Harmonix started acting like a rock star, demanding specially colored skittles and bottled water from the highest peak in the Andes mountains.

I think that GH2 is all wrapped up and the dev change will be for any future versions. I could be wrong. |
