Give up your dream of becoming famous on Xbox Live through legendary battles against other wannabe rockstars. It looks like Guitar Hero II will not support online multiplayer. Though Live will still empower you with downloadable content,
Gamepro is reporting that you won't be able to jam with anyone who is not in the room with you.
Playing right into the hands of us conspiracy theorists,
Gamespy interviewed Red Octane and revealed that Xbox Live multiplayer support could be added as a downloadable update to the game. It was not indicated whether or not such an update would come at a cost or how long gamers would have to wait.
I think Live multiplayer expands the replay value of any game, but I'm betting Guitar Hero is the kind of party experience you want to share with people who are standing next to you, tossing undergarments, wiping your brow and covering you in fancy robes.
