Oh how we miss the days of free (well after you pay Microsoft for Xbox LIVE access) video game multiplayer, these days if you buy a title used (not all games) you must pay for an "Online Pass," in this specific case Crysis 2 will not be implementing EA's version of online pass. Used game buyers everywhere are rejoicing to the news; developer Crytek stated in an interview "All we can say/confirm is that we aren’t using Online Pass for Crysis 2 ... we're not looking to put a wall up to keep people away from the multiplayer.” EA's Online Pass has made it's way into most sports games released in the past year or so and has received a mixed response from the public, because the online pass is free if you purchase the game new many players aren't actually affected by the multiplayer-enabling feature. Others, mainly gamers looking at the used market, however are up in arms over the new cost and have even been boycotting some very popular titles. A Gold-only demo of Crysis 2 is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the great-looking futuristic FPS hits Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows PC on March 22, 2011 - stay tuned to PlanetXbox360.com for a full review around the release.
