Bethesda has confirmed what
some speculated and many hoped would be true; the Shivering Isles expansion pack for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is going to deliver 250 points of gamerscore. The points will be spread across 10 achievements, which seems reasonable. What is the deal with other games having 8 point achievements for insanely difficult missions?
The extra points fit into Microsoft's new achievement policies, that allow disc-based games to add 250 points through downloadable content. You thought you were free of Oblivion once you earned your 1,000th point. You thought it was OK to get a job again. Bethesda refuses to let you go, and they're striving to make Oblivion the most replayed game on the 360.
Even the staunchest anti-microtransaction warrior has to give Oblivion respect for allowing owners to make one of the longest games on the console even longer with minimal extra expense. Let us be honest, you can add Hitman to Saints Row and throw a little Just Cause on top and you probably ended up with a less enjoyable and shorter experience than Oblivion fans got.
