Mortal Kombat is finally here – rejoice! It isn’t enough that we’ve posted our full review for you to check out (we love it, that’s about the size of it), but we’ve decided to spoil you a little bit and talk about our ten favorite – and disgustingly bloody – fatalities in the game. Now, if you don’t want to know what they are, we advise that you STOP READING NOW. And we won’t break down how to do them, that part you’ll just have to find out for yourself. Now go enjoy and remember, killing your opponent is part of the fun. This isn’t a wrestling match.
10. Ermac - Shrinky Dink: Ermac is a very strange character, but one with supernatural powers that shouldn’t be denied. Our favorite fatality of his reminds us of the Duke Nukem shrink gun. He turns his opponent into a pint-sized character, and while they’re running around and screaming like crazy, he simply walks up and stomps them. And, to add insult to injury, he scrapes them off his boots afterward. Hell, wouldn’t you? Who wants dead Mortal Kombatants on the bottom of their shoe? Ick.
9. Sektor - Scarecrow: Sektor’s Missile Lock fatality is sick, as he not only blows you up once, but all of your limbs with lock-on missiles. However, we definitely like the Scarecrow. He sticks what is essentially a land mine-looking device on your chest. However, instead of exploding, it opens up six blades, which immediately separate all the limbs off of your body, sticking them to the ends of the blades. It’s like being a scarecrow – but you’re certainly not made out of stuffing.
8. Liu Kang - Life’s a Drag(on): We salute the old-school nature of Mortal Kombat, and the best way to do that is to recommend Liu Kang’s fatality. Like the one in Mortal Kombat II, he changes into a large, fire-breathing dragon, then proceeds to chomp off the upper half of his opponent’s body in one swallow. Then he transforms back into his human self. Which leaves us to wonder – how does he not suffer indigestion? He just ate a whole frickin’ half a body!
