Just over a week out from launch, Kalypso Media has released their final character video for The First Templar, featuring the noblewoman Marie d’Ibelin. The video showcases Marie's acrobatic combat style and proficiency with daggers which Kalypso says "provides an alternative solution to dispatching large groups of marauding enemies. Wrongfully declared and heretic and imprisoned by the Inquisition, Marie isn't exactly a delicate little flower despite being a noblewoman."
Previous videos have featured two other Templars: Roland and Celian. Roland is a gruff grizzled veteran who fights with a two-handed sword, while Celian is a man with a troubled past who uses a sword and shield.
The First Templar is a brand new co-op action game developed by Haemimont Games. Set in the 13th Century during the crusades players follow the noble Templar Knights in a search for the Holy Grail. Along the way, friends become enemies, corruption hits the church, and fallen Templars renounce their oaths. Enemies are everywhere including "the Saracen, King Philip of France and the Holy Inquisition."
The campaign can be either played alone, or through co-op with a friend. When solo, both characters are selectable and the game's AI controls the other. The title also offers jump-in/jump-out cooperative play where a second player may take control of the other hero at any time.
