Cliff Bleszinski and his team at Epic Games must be thrilled right now. The Gears of War 3 beta has racked up 1.29 million players over the course of its run, with fans garnering a collective 249 years worth of gameplay. That’s a lot of Lancer frags, people.
Furthermore, over one million pre-orders have been logged for the game thus far, setting another record and guaranteeing that the final chapter in the saga will definitely go out on top.
"An overwhelming success – we can't thank the fans enough," said Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski.
"While the beta was a fun way to give players an early taste of our game, it also provided us with invaluable feedback to help us refine and polish 'Gears of War 3' to ensure it's truly the culmination of the trilogy we promised to the fans."
