So many “gamers” have such fond memories of the E3 events. In fact I remember the good old days of flicking through a games magazine, drooling over the latest news and screenshots coming out of the E3 shows. As of the 6-9 June E3 2011 hits and expectations are incredibly high to say the least, especially for me. PlanetXbox360 will be bringing you all the news coming out of this year’s show and it is something you don’t want to miss. So here is my, Lewis Green, wishlist for E3 2011:
1. Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally shown: Spin off after spin off, damn it Square Enix give it a rest. I don’t wish to imply these were bad games and most were decent entries into the Kingdom Hearts franchise but we haven’t had one true sequel since the second title. So much could be done with this game and if long rumours are to be believed it’s going to use the Final Fantasy XIII engine (Although I take rumours with a bit of scepticism). Surely it’s time for this game to come out from the shadows.
2. What else is Epic Games up to: We all love Gears of War but come on who doesn’t. The third entry of the series will really be a big focus at Microsoft’s press conference but can we expect anything else from this team who are currently at the top of their game. With the fairly recent Unreal engine 3 tech demo released, I believe so. Epic will want to capitalise on this engine and show what it really can do, so what do they have up their sleeves. Could it incorporate Gears 3 in anyway?
3. Metal Gear Solid: Rising is confirmed for a 2011 release: The Metal Gear Solid franchise is held in the highest regard and is a personal favourite of mine. Now that’s off my chest, on to the game. Too long has this game been teased and Hideo Kojima has been tormenting me for too long. The game really departs from the stealth formula and focuses more on sheer brutal action; this is a welcome change as it fits the cybernetic character of Raiden perfectly. Currently there isn’t a game I’m anticipating more, I want it NOW!
