    Alien Hominid Lands This Week

    by Nelson Rodriguez

After last week's insane response to Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade humor video, people should be cooling off to an almost new title arriving on Wednesday.

Alien Hominid HD is one of the most hotly anticipated titles to be announced for the Arcade.  When the game's expected release date got pushed back due to the certification process it became the focus of a lot of gamer anger.  Fan wrath and cartoon aliens have gone together like peanut butter and jelly since the beginning of time.  Remember the Great Gazoo controversy of 1965?

The game looks like a heck of a lot of fun and reminds us all that there is more to the Xbox Live Arcade than New Rally-X.  The game isn't exactly new, but it will be new to many and still carries the shine of a new game, having first hit the scene in 2004.  As a ported XBLA title, it clearly needs less development time than a full retail release, but the art style implemented in Alien Hominid forces the question:  why don't more games break convention to create a unique look and feel?

The cult favorite offers high definition alien action that makes it better than ever before. “Alien Hominid HD” from The Behemoth is a side-scrolling extraterrestrial experience like no other, and will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 0800 GMT (1 a.m. PST).

As a feisty yet adorable alien, gamers must fend off FBI agents to ensure their spaceship stays safe. With unique, hand-drawn characters and weapons, this award-winning title is the epitome of quirky humor and intergalactic fun. Sixteen levels, seven mini-games, and jump-in anytime multiplayer capability adds to the cosmic mayhem.
“Alien Hominid HD” will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated T for Teen (Blood and Gore, Cartoon Violence).

Sixteen levels and seven mini-games, including “All You Can Eat” and “PDA,” now with online multiplayer support
