EA Games President Frank Gibeau has hinted that gamers may see a sequel to Mirror’s Edge, even though months ago, reports stated that EA had stopped development for the second installment.
Gibeau spoke to Gametrailers.com in an E3 interview yesterday stating that the graphic engine Frostbite 2 would be the primary engine used in the making of Mirror’s Edge 2.
"We haven't killed Mirror's Edge," continued Gibeau. "We're actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way. We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something I think special the first time around. You've got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one and that's what we're working on,” said Gibeau.
Gibeau also noted that the series still remains an important franchise so hopefully EA will get started on Mirror’s Edge 2 in the near future.
