Gears of War Might Get New Weapons

The rumors have been flying like bullets at General Raam, and just like that final scene, there's no way of knowing if these stories will lead anywhere.  Electronic Gaming Monthly loves them some speculation, and we love them for it.  They're claiming that Gears of War will be seeing a fix for multiplayer achievements and a content pack featuring 3 new maps and 3 new weapons.

Keep your fingers crossed for a flamethrower, plasma cannon and twin Uzis if the DLC is real.  The word on the street also says that the maps will be the Suburbs of Sera and a Locust Caverns map, lit for both night and day to make two settings.  The gamerscore buzz points to the ranked match requirement being wiped away on the multiplayer achievements.

These rumors - which appear daily - would make me "hella" happy.  I've avoided ranked matches like bad meat, and I sure as heck could use the extra points.  I also think no good battle is complete without flamethrowers in the mix.  But then, will new weapons also mean new achievements for using those weapons in a killing spree?
