No relationship lasts forever, it seems. Yu Suzuki, the groundbreaking producer behind such Sega classics as Virtua Fighter and the Shenmue series, is leaving the company later this year to take on a new advisory role.
"I'll be leaving my current job at Sega this September, and after that point I'll remain on as an advisor," he told Gamasutra. "So I've formally been with both companies from 2008 until September 2011. With the new company [YS Net], I've been doing pretty much what I personally want to do myself."
It’s sad we’ll never see a Shenmue III, but we certainly wish Suzuki-san the best of luck. And don’t forget he’s working with Premium Agency on a new Kinect fighting games as well. Can we throw people?
