Welcome back to our weekly look into upcoming games for the Xbox 360, the Forecast! This week is looking pretty busy, so let’s go!
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (Capcom, $39.99)- Yes, we’re aware that this is the THIRD version of Street Fighter IV to come out for the Xbox 360, but we’re still not tired of it. This edition brings a number of balancing to each fight, so it’s actually more fun to take on opponents online. Furthermore, four new characters are added to the fray -- Yun, Yang, Oni and Evil Ryu. They add quite a bit to the game, even though you might accuse Oni of being a little too powerful for his own good. (Hey, just like Zangief, figure out a strategy for him and break through.)
On a side note, if you already own the original SSFIV, you can upgrade to Arcade on Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 Microsoft points. Quickest way to get the content, and it doesn’t take too much hard drive space.
UFC Personal Trainer (THQ, $49.99)- After riling up crowds with real fighting action in the UFC Undisputed games, THQ returns and dares you to get in on the action with this new physical training program. UFC Personal Trainer lets you take your pick from a number of superstars, who will run you through your paces across 40 different exercises and techniques, guaranteed to turn you into a powerhouse. Well, okay, you won’t be able to challenge Brock Lesnar or anything like that, but you’ll definitely feel a lot better about yourself after a few workouts.
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 (Tecmo Koei, $59.99)- The big, bad fighting robots are back, taking on...well, hundreds of big, bad fighting robots. Like the previous games, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 lets you choose from different warriors as you run through story campaigns, loosely based on the hit anime series of the same name. There’s plenty of challenges to tackle here, along with big bosses and no shortage of enemies. We’ll review this one fairly soon.
There’s more, too. The new Call of Duty: Black Ops expansion, Annihilation, drops June 28 for 1200 Microsoft points; 505 Games will tackle you with Backbreaker 2: Vengeance, which arrives on June 29 for 800 Microsoft points with football action galore; and NIS America will win you over with Half Minute Hero, which also arrives on XBLA on the 29.
See you guys next week on the Forecast!
