Eidos Interactive has released a new developer diary which details the setting of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game takes place in the yeah 2027, a time of controversy surrounding mechanical augmentations. Many people support these augmentations and many people are against this new technology. Adding to this rift in public opinion are two competing corporate giants, Sarif Industries and Tai Yong Industries, each vying for control of the augmentation market.
The developers go on to explain more about the world Adam Jensen (the main character) lives in, and also provide insight into gameplay. There will be the shooting component, but there will also be a heavy emphasis on hacking and detective work.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is set for release on August 23 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
