Top 10 Most Anticipated 360 Games for the Second Half of 2011

    by Alex Osborn

Last week, we here at PlanetXbox360 shared with you our top ten 360 games of 2011 thus far, with Portal 2 reigning supreme. So we thought, what better way to celebrate this midyear mark with yet another top ten list, this time looking forward to the rest of the year. There are a ton of great games on the horizon and fortunately for you, we've taken the time to break down the top ten most promising titles that are worth looking out for.

So, without further ado, here's our top ten most anticipated 360 games for the second half of 2011:

    10. Catherine - The fact that the developer behind this game is the same team that gave us Persona 4 is reason enough to give Catherine a look. Sure, it's a bit quirky... alright maybe really quirky, but its unique art style and approach to storytelling is like nothing currently available on the Xbox. This puzzle, horror, romance title is undoubtedly one of a kind, so if you're looking for a game that strays off the beaten path, you owe it to yourself to give the game a look.

    9. Deus Ex: Human Revolution - It's been a while since we've seen a new title in the Deus Ex franchise, and it looks like the latest installment is sure to please fans. Blending third person action with role-playing elements, the game feels a lot like Mass Effect 2, which is certainly not a bad thing. Human Revolution will certainly deliver a robust experience that will keep gamers busy for quite awhile. Plus, the trailers for the game have been freakin' awesome.

    8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - We all know Activision's latest military shooter will sell like hotcakes when it launches in November and with good reason. The game's addictive multiplayer will surely please fans - or addicts for that matter - by providing just enough ingenuity over the familiar gameplay that everyone fell in love with some four years ago. And, if the latest comments from Bowling are to believed, the campaign will deliver a satisfying epic story. Hey, we can always hope, right?

    7. RAGE - id Software's gorgeous new IP is shaping up to be one of the year's most innovative shooters. Having won a myriad of Game of the Show awards at last year's E3, RAGE will deliver solid shooting layered on top of a rewarding roleplaying experience. The post-apocalytic environment has been done to death this generation, but the vivid and disturbing world of RAGE blows anything seen in games like Fallout out of the water.

    6. Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Finally, the last chapter in the Ezio trilogy. Like the name implies, Revelations will likely tie up the loose ends presented in the prior titles, while undoubtedly setting up new mysteries for the third proper title. While the multiplayer likely won't be as revolutionary as Brotherhood's, it'll give fans that extra bit of replay value once they've finished the campaign. If you're a fan of the franchise and have played the prior games, there's no reason why you'd want to miss out on finishing Ezio's story.
