    by Matt Gibbs

Itching to get your hands on Guitar Hero II? Looks like you might not have to wait too much longer, with reports surfacing that playable demo stations will be appearing in retailers nationwide over the next few days.

Xbox360Fanboy report, via one of their regular anonymous tipsters, that we should expect to start seeing Guitar Hero II demo stations in retail stores as early as next week. Several commenters on their site have since chimed in to say that they have already played the Xbox 360 version of the demo in various stores including Fys, Best Buy and Circuit City.

Head down to your local retail store and you never know your luck, GH II could be there for you to try out. Otherwise you can always wait for the release on March 23.

Guitar Hero II is the follow-up to 2005’s award-winning release, Guitar Hero, which rocked the game industry and garnered a stack of awards including: “Best Offline Multiplayer Game 2005” and “Music Game of the Year 2005” from IGN.com, “Best Soundtrack 2005” at the Spike TV Videogames Awards and five D.I.C.E. awards, including Outstanding Innovation in Gaming and Family Game of the Year.
