Welcome back to The Forecast! Sorry we missed you last week, it was a hectic week at Comic-Con and a LOT was happening. But we’re back, with a week that...well, it’s incredibly slow. But at least something’s coming out. Let’s go!
Saints Row Double Pack (THQ, August 2nd) - Yep, the highlight at retail this week isn’t actually a new game, but rather a repackaging of two earlier releases. The Saints Row Double Pack contains both the original gangster tale, along with the rompous-filled sequel, Saints Row 2. While some may not consider that anything worthwhile, keep in mind that the package is selling for $19.99, and it’s a great precursor for the madness to come in Saints Row the Third.
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (Fuelcell Games, August 3rd) - The Xbox Live Arcade Summer of Arcade program continues with this insanely fun side-scrolling puzzle/shooter, something along the lines of the Pixeljunk Shooter series. In the game, you guide a UFO through a series of twisted planet challenges, shooting down enemies while navigating tricky paths and trying to figure out a way off the Shadow Planet. We’ve seen this one in action and it looks fantastic. Be sure to check back for a review very soon.
