It’s almost here! We’re just a day away from attending one of the biggest video game community events around, the Penny Arcade Expo. We’ll be jetting up to Seattle, Washington, setting up camp in an overcrowded hotel room and mingling with the locals and the video game zealots across three days of truly crazed gaming dementia. We can’t wait! Meanwhile, what the heck are we looking forward to? Tons in fact. Let’s count down the ten things we can’t wait to do when we arrive at PAX. The full schedule is located at this link (click here) or by picking up a show-floor map once you arrive at the Washington Convention Center (just as an Enforcer if you get lost). Now, these top experiences are in no particular order, so take them for what you will and at the end of the day PAX is about having fun so make sure you at the very least do that.
Borderlands 2: 2K Games was supposed to show Borderlands 2 at a web-broadcasted event from GamesCom this weekend, but all we ended up getting was some sort of interview explaining what the game would be about. That’s important, mind you, but we were really looking forward to seeing what the game is about. Well, this coming week at PAX, we’ll have the opportunity to do just that, checking out the latest build and seeing if Claptrap once again makes a return. We’re making a fair bet on “yes”.
Halofest: Being the Planet Xbox 360 staff and all, you could easily say that we’ve got some love for Halo. We’re still taking part in sessions of Reach, and highly anticipating the arrival of both Anniversary Edition and the upcoming Halo 4. PAX will take center stage for everyone Halo-invested, thanks to the Halofest, which will feature tournaments, reveals, special get-togethers with 343 Industries and Bungie staffers and much, much more. Who knows? We might even get a look at Halo 4 in action this week. MAYBE.
The Return of the Sega Arcade: Just as they did for Comic-Con, Sega will be setting up shop for gamers to stop by and check out their games in action, just minutes away from the convention center. The place to be is GameWorks, where Sega will have several playable games on display, including arcade favorites, and plenty of room for gamers to stop by and chill. Some new announcements are expected as well, so let the speculation begin. It’s not Shenmue III. And, no, it’s not Seaman 2 with Kinect support. Damn sickos.
