Valve Expresses Disappointment with Restrictive Nature of Xbox Live

    by Alex Osborn

While Xbox 360 owners don't have the access that PlayStation users have via Steam integration with PSN, the blame shouldn't be directed at Valve. Game Newell expressed his desire to bring Valve's gaming platform to Xbox Live when speaking to Eurogamer, citing Microsoft's strict online policies as the culprit.

While there are certain benefits to keeping an online service like Xbox Live highly restricted, they're missing out on evolving the online experience by opening the doors to other talented developers.

At the same time, you can't blame Microsoft for being extra careful. Just take a look at the catastrophe that was the PSN outage. Xbox Live's stringent online policies keep it a premier service. Would bringing Valve onboard compromise that? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
