Epic Games designer CliffyB recently spoke to Gamasutra about the future of the Shadow Complex franchise, explaining that the sequel is well underway.
According to Bleszinski, “Shadow Complex 2 is sitting there, it’s actually largely designed, we just need to find a partner that will help us to finish it so we can bring it to market.”
Many gamers were afraid that Epic had completely abandoned the franchise after having shelved the sequel in order to bring Infinity Blade to iOS. In fact, there was even talk of bringing the original Shadow Complex to iOS, but the idea was eventually dismissed due to the amount of work that would be required in porting the game. Plus, the game wasn't designed to be played with touch controls, so that could have posed an even greater problem from a gameplay standpoint.
Regardless, there is still a chance that Xbox owners will get a chance to dive into the sequel, so long as Epic manages to find a partner that can help them finish it up and bring it to market.
