With October only a few weeks away, DICE's highly anticipated military shooter Battlefield 3 is nearly upon us. Launching just two weeks ahead of the titan that is Modern Warfare 3, there's no doubt that being the first to retail is a huge win for Electronic Arts, but will it be enough for this underdog to find some much needed success?
There are a number of awesome things that Battlefield 3 has going for it, namely a beautiful graphics engine sporting gorgeous lighting effects, unparalleled levels of destructibility and superb animation. But despite these advantages, there are a number of things holding the franchise back from putting its competitor in their "rightful place".
3. A Niche Fanbase - Let's face it, Battlefield fans represent a very small fragment of the gaming community.
