Three Titles You Absolutely Can't Miss this Fall

    by Alex Osborn

So you've got a tight budget and a very limited amount of time over the next couple of months that you can dedicate to gaming. We feel your pain. With so many awesome titles that deserve your attention, it's going to be tough to choose which are worth shelling out $60 for. We here at PlanetXbox360 want to help make your life a bit easier by providing you with a few suggestions. While these games obviously haven't been released yet, we've done our homework and compiled a list of three, yes three games on the horizon that you must absolutely pick up this year. Why three? Well, we figured that's about as much gaming as the average gamer can handle over the next couple of months. Note: Seeing as how we're a 360-centric site, we've decided to limit the selection to titles that are available on the Xbox.

The first title is one that launches in less than a month. That's right, Batman: Arkham City is hands now the next game that should be on your radar. October is going to be a busy month jam-packed with a ton of great games. From Battlefield 3 to Rage and Dark Souls, there are just too many awesome games for one person to handle. And while these titles will undoubtedly be fantastic and worthy of your time, Batman is among the cream of the crop for games this year. With open world exploration and a huge cast of fully realized villains, Arkham City is a game you can't miss.

Now I know what you're thinking. Is he out of his mind? What about Battlefield 3? Sure, Battlefield 3 is shaping up to be one of the best military shooters of all time, but it's likely going to have a rough launch as far as its online online component goes. So it's probably in your best interest to wait a little while until DICE has patched the game a few times, at which point you'll likely have more free time and be able to pick it up for a better price. Ah yes, and Dark Souls. While the game may even be a contender for game of the year, its punishing difficulty and steep learning curve makes this one title I can't recommend to a general audience. It may offer a pretty rewarding gameplay experience, but it's one that isn't for everyone.
