It always hurts getting your ass handed to you by a kid when playing Call of Duty, but that isn’t enough reason to find out where he lives and assault him. That is exactly what has happened in Plymouth, England, where a 13-year old boy beat a 46 year old man in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The grown man became enraged following his loss to the boy and being called a bad name.
The man tracked down the boy, and proceeded to grab him by the throat, until his mother came to his rescue.
"It wasn’t malice,” Mark Bradford, the defeated 46-year old, pleaded. “I just grabbed him. I’ve seen him since and apologized. The injuries weren’t that bad but I do regret it.”
The mother of the boy sums it up perfectly. “It’s pathetic that a grown man would attack a defenseless child like this,” she said. “If you can’t handle losing to a child then you shouldn’t be playing games.”
While there is a definite sting to being beaten by a child, gamers should learn to embrace this. We were all children once too, and it felt great to beat someone much older than you at video games. Even better, learn from the kid who just kicked your ass, and then beat him the following match. There is no need for crazed violence following your loss in a video game.
