An auto update for Guitar Hero II on the Xbox 360 has been released that fixes any issues with the whammy bar that people might have been experiencing. There are also reports of peoples consoles being bricked after installing it.
As posted here, the update was released on Saturday morning and it does seem to fix the whammy bar issue - apparently the bug was due to some sort of anti-cheating code that was inserted into the game late into the development cycle.
A title update for Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360 will be available on Xbox Live at 4:00 am PDT on Saturday, April 14 that should resolve the situation where input from the whammy bar was not always recognized. Downloading the update should resolve this issue for all Activision Guitar Hero branded guitar models.
However, if you read a bit further down that forum post, and also check out this one here at Xbox.com, you will see a lot of people complaining that their console is now freezing regularly, or has even been bricked - everything occuring after they installed the update. Anyone care to comment on the their own experience after installing the update?
