The first Gears of War 3 DLC pack isn’t even out yet, and the company behind the best-selling Xbox 360 exclusive is already talking about the second addition of downloadable content. RAAM’s Shadow is mostly composed of story DLC, although there are a few little multiplayer add-ons as well. RAAM’s Shadow will take place prior to the events of Gears of War 1, but will still follow the events of Emergence Day. Players will be in charge of Zeta Squad, a team put in charge of evacuating Ilima City in order to save the citizens from locusts and the kryll. The Zeta Squad has three familiar faces: Lt. Minh Young Kim from Gears 1, Tai Kaliso from Gears 2, and Michael Barrick from the Gears of War graphic novels. A new character, Alicia Valera, will also be joining the squad.
General RAAM, an iconic enemy from the Gears of War franchise, will be playable as he fights against the humans. “RAAM’s imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the ‘Gears’ universe,” explains Cliff Bleszinski, game designer behind the Gears of War franchise. “We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting.”
In addition to the story mode, a Chocolate weapon set is being added to the game, as well as 6 new multiplayer characters. RAAM’s Shadow will cost 1200 Microsoft Points and will be available on December 13th.
