For the most part Microsoft's recent roll-out of the updated Xbox 360 dashboard went off without a hitch, but not all is great in Redmond land because a number of users are reporting Error 801540B7, which locks the Xbox LIVE user out of the service and stops them from purchasing any new media (televisions, movies, etc.). Up until today we haven't heard an official response on exactly why or what this error means; a few of our forum users have reported getting the dreaded "Error 801540B7," as early as last week. Microsoft reached out to gaming website Joystiq.com and stated that they are aware of the issue and a resolution/fix is in the works by the IT team at Xbox LIVE, no timeline was given for when we can expect said update to roll-out.
