Two new Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning videos were released today; one video of the action-RPG’s opening cinematic and one developer diary discussing Reckoning’s art design.
The developer diary on art design is quite interesting, as the Art Director Tim Coman and Principle Concept Artist Sean Andrew Murray explain just how much thought went into every aspect of the game. History, back-stories, and mythology has been considered for every location and every race of species. Coman explains that their art design is reminiscent of “laying out an entire state, road by road, sign post by sign post, making sure it all feels filled in and cool and cohesive.” Coman ends the video by stating, “Everything was considered, and I hope they [players] walk away with that.”
Both videos have been embedded on this page and both are worth watching. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning releases on February 7th, 2012 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
