If Mass Effect 3 is the last game in the franchise, then there is no reason to save your game data. That is why our ears pricked up when Mike Gamble, Associate Producer at BioWare, suggested that players might want to keep those save files on their hard drives. When asked whether or not gamers should keep their Mass Effect 3 data for the future, Gamble replied, “Obviously I can't say anything, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.”
BioWare has no official plans for the future of the Mass Effect series, but this sounds like a promising hint at more to come. These save files could have an effect on future DLC, as well as future titles and spin-offs. It is all just speculation at the moment, so gamers will have to wait and see what BioWare has up their sleeve.
Mass Effect 3 is slated for a March 6th, 2012 release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC - a demo is dropping on Xbox Live February 14th, 2012.
