The Madden NFL simulation has picked the winning Superbowl team 6 times in the last 8 years, a 75% success rating. This year, Madden NFL 12 has chosen the Giants to repeat history and take down the New England Patriots again for another Superbowl win. The simulation gave the Giants an early lead, putting the New York team fourteen points ahead of the Pats at 24-10. Thanks to two Tom Brady touchdowns in the 4th quarter, the game was tied at 24-24. However, a field goal with only 3 seconds left on the clock, gave the Giants an upper hand with a score of 27-24. It looks like they’re going to Disneyland.
It is worth noting that while the simulation has been right 6 of the last 8 years, one of the years it was incorrect was the 2008 Superbowl where the Giants upset the undefeated Patriots. But to give Madden NFL a break, nobody saw that one coming.
Superbowl XLVI will begin later this afternoon, in just about a hour, on February 5th, 2012 and can be viewed on NBC.
