No taxation without assassination! Where that joke failed, hopefully the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will succeed. If rumors are to be believed, the final chapter of the Assassin’s Creed storyline could take place during the American Revolution. According to CVG, a source close to the project informed them that the next Assassin’s Creed will feature a new American protagonist during the American Revolution. The source also commented that Ubisoft would be showing this off sometime before March 31st, 2012.
The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC from Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood first hinted at a New York setting when a set of coordinates lead players to look toward the state. Then, in Revelations, the U.S. was highlighted inside of a futuristic globe. Most recently, a question from a Ubisoft marketing survey was leaked that asked gamers if they thought the Revolutionary War period would be a good fit for the next Assassin’s Creed installment. For the moment, it is just a rumor. It would be a good setting for the franchise though, as tensions were extremely high during this period and it would be a completely new change of scenery, a challenge Ubisoft has never failed at overcoming.
