Microsoft has said they will be lowering the price of the Xbox 360, however it won't be a E3, as rumors suggested.
As reported by
Bloomberg, Shame Kim, who is VP of Microsoft Game Studios, has said that they will be lowering the Xbox 360's prices to increase sales and lure customers who otherwise normally wouldn't be interested in traditional video games.
"
We need to compete effectively for that customer and part of that is getting to the mass market price point for the console," said Kim. "
We definitely are working on that area."
If the Playstation 3 is struggling to keep up now, let's see how they do with a Xbox 360 price cut. Especially since we are so early into the lifecycle of the former.
