    New Dead Space Trailer

    by Matt Gibbs

EA have released a new trailer for Dead Space, their new survival horror set in, surprisingly enough, deep space.

Set in the cold blackness of deep space, the atmosphere is soaked with a feeling of tension, dread and sheer terror. In Dead Space, players step into the role of engineer Isaac Clarke – an ordinary man on a seemingly routine mission to fix the communications systems aboard a deep space mining ship. It is not long before Isaac awakes to a living nightmare when he learns that the ship’s crew has been ravaged by a vicious alien infestation. He must fight through the dead silence and darkness of deep space to stay alive.

Bioshock is one of the best games I've ever played, but it's an ignorant foolish comment to say that Bioshock will always be better than this when you have no idea.

The thing that makes good horror games is when they don't just use blood and gore as the backbone of the game then toss in the characters and plot seemingly as an afterthought or as a counterpart to the bloody gore. Everyone like to shoot monster and have those moment where you're cornered and down to your last clip of ammo and mabye some of us like the parts where you are going back to a safe area where you left the survivors only to find them freshly butchered.... I really prefer Sci-Fi themed games and deepspace is looking to be a solid prospect at this stage of development. With EA involved I doubt it will be stunning or fantastic but it may be worth looking into next year.

what a bust. Bioshock will always be better than this. EA = bad horror... the only horror EA makes is when i use the Florida state seminoles on ncaa 08 and score an average 80 points per game on heisman... now thats horror

Not to mention GoW, which makes it even harder for this game to fulfill the expectations of the horror genre for gamers.

Looks pretty decent so far. Most horror games I've played were outstanding such as RE, or Bioshock. I'm not saying that this will be in RE or Bioshock's league but only time will tell! I'm going to keep my eye on this!

Wow... I just got doen watching the trailer. The game looks like it could turn out to be actually ok. It's still early though and thinks can change for the worse. Than can change for the better also though! Which would be great!
