Honestly we could go on for another 4 pages discussing the ins and outs of Rock Band but we really just wanted to give a general overview and a final verdict on the game. The Special Edition bundle has the highest price tag but is easily the best overall value and will give you the most pleasure out of the experience. Rock Band is really that, an experience, and not just another game to play during your free time. If you want to experience the game at it’s best you need to sit down (or stand up) with three of your friends and go through a couple songs, everyone doing their part. Each one of the different instruments has their own strengths and weaknesses but if I was to recommend Rock Band for one instrument alone it would be the drums. To each their own and if your preference is something else the game can be just as enjoyable as it is to me with the drums. Everyone was sad to hear Harmonix would not be working on the next Guitar Hero, when they announced Rock Band all those people’s sad feelings turned to excitement and for once that hype has paid off. Because of the genre that this game is a review of Rock Band cannot be compared to a review of COD4 or Mass Effect but on it’s own this game is just as good as those. It is hard to dethrone a franchise as powerful as GH3 but the new fad is being social and Rock Band provides just that, an outlet to be social. Once everything gets updated and the new online features are available this game will only get better. There is already a thriving Rock Band community out there and plenty of information to digest. Rock Band is not a cheap investment but if played correctly can end up being one of the best social games ever played, and to me it was just that.
