Arkadian Warriors Reviewby Chad Grischow
The game's choose-your-own-angle camera system (operated with the right-stick) gets to be a bit of a chore when playing with a friend, as you are both forced into looking at the same view. This can lead to an inevitable game of tug-of-war over the camera's controls when searching out secret rooms or treasure lying too close to a wall. The other nagging issue is the game's shared shop inventory, allowing one gamer to purchase all the health potions before the second player has a chance. Those who learned to share at a young age will get through just fine, but playing with a greedy stranger may turn into an unfortunately frustrating situation.
Arkadian Warriors is a game that holds itself back from greatness with self-inflicted limitations. The limits to the number of quests to take on and number of players in a co-op game really hold the game back from being one of the best Arcade offerings around. As it stands, Arkadian Warriors is a good time while it lasts, but thanks to a lack of quests, falls a little short of earning the 800 MS Point price tag for most gamers.
