Call of Duty 4 Ranks #1 in Units Worldwideby Matt Gibbs
Activision announced today that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the #1 title in units worldwide for calendar 2007, according to The NPD Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group. Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has sold in excess of seven million units worldwide since its launch in November.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has garnered critical acclaim, securing more than 18 perfect score reviews and over 40 combined Editors' Choice and Game of the Year awards in the U.S. alone. The game has been nominated for 10 prestigious Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards, including Game of the Year. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare also currently is the #1 Xbox 360 title on Xbox Live, based on unique users, according to www.majornelson.com.
"We're very excited about this achievement especially given so many competitive titles this year," said Will Kassoy, senior vice president, global brand management, Activision Publishing, Inc. "Consumer and critics agree that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the best games ever created and further establishes Call of Duty as one of the premier brands in the industry. This ground-breaking game and franchise continue to establish new standards by which all other action games will be judged."

I juat want a secont modern warfare in which Hummers and tanks are included in the multiplayer. Maybe some radar guided missles as well. In the words of Peter Griffin "that would be freaking sweet." |

Who the hell wants to see a movie based on either video game? I'm just saying. |

LOL wrutless, Your probably right. I know mine was traded in and when I did, the guys at gamestop said they had ALOT of Halo3 trade ins. Cant complain, I got all I cared to play out of Halo3 in those 3 months.
I think the game style is just outdated. Tearing down shields or lifebars are so 90's. HAHA |

And about 6million copies of Halo 3 were traded in once COD4 came out |

Activision is full of crap. They already said that GH3 was the best selling title of the year and Halo 3 sold over 8 million copies. |

Chef, thats because we dont have Bill Gates funding Call of Duty parties like Halo. If the game were 360 exclusive, then you'd see theatrical trailers and junk. I personally think the single player in COD games are fun but lack any good story or even a good character to follow around like the Master Chief. For example a Halo movie could be bad ass, but a COD movie? Needs better character development for the First Person, and maybe one character for the first person instead of multiple. |

Just need to fix the party system bugs which plague the online system. If they manage to fix those the game will definately be worth going back to. |

Hey it's the best thing out right now. It's the most realistic game I have ever played and personally, even after all the positive publicity this game recived from critics and those of us who played the beta, I still don't think it has gotten it's fair share of praise just yet. |
