Turok Demo Hits Americaby Matt Gibbs
This time we have definitely have it right, the Turok demo that was released a few weeks ago (supposedly to the US, Mexico and Canada too), is now available to download in the aforementioned countries - at last.
A popular franchise in both the comic book and video game worlds, the new Turok games will target the core gamer audience and will be developed by BVG’s new Vancouver studio, Propaganda Games. BVG plans to publish games for multiple console and handheld game platforms, including the next generation successors.

yeah i think the era of FPS's is just beginning. even though they have been popular for years now, more and more games and game franchises will develope among the same catagory. personally, i like it. |

It seems like just another "heavily genre influenced" shooter. The gameplay falls somewhere between Quake 4 and Gears of War. The standard view seems oddly pinched/zoomed and makes you feel like you're partially zoomed in as you walk around. Sad to say it but Turok looks like he got himself a Marcus Fenix makeover. I may rent but I won't buy. |

Right, because Call of Duty 4 showed that a lot of people are really getting bored of FPSs.... |

FPS's have flooded the market since the time of DOOM. They were just PC centric until the Xbox hit the market, making FPS's viable, fun, and mainstream on a console, too. The FPS genre will never get old or 'crash' as you put it. Look at all the top sellers, 90% of them are either FPS's or have some element of shooting (ie. GTA). Just don't play the crappy ones. That's what demos and reviews are for. The gaming market is also flooded with sports games, but Madden and others still sell like hotcakes. |

I thought the demo was ok even though in kinda bored with first-person shooters, were being flooded with first-person shooter so much everybodys going to get worn out of them and simply stop playing them all together, people dont play Halo 3 anymore because of the features and different gameplay style of COD4, when i played Halo 3 after playing COD4 for a bit i tried to sprint on Halo 3 but was disappointed of the just 1 running speed you have on it and i couldnt drop a grenade before i died or pull out my handgun to shoot back before i died wich killed my ambitions to play Halo 3 ever again, Turok does bring something different though to first-person multiplay shooting with the dinosaures and the arrow bows but having too many first-person shooter games will cause the genre to crash and players will look forwarsd to playing third-person games like Mass Effect, Tiberium looks good too and as long as they keep bringing different things to the first-person shooter genre it will stay fresh for a while. |

I played the demo almost a month ago when it came with my OXM magazine. I saw it in the marketplace too...this article is kinda pointless. |
