    America's Army Review

    by Chad Grischow

The game also has no on-screen display showing who was killed, and by whom; keeping only a general score for each team in the upper-right hand corner.  This makes you question those far-off shots you are taking at an opponent; did he stop shooting because you killed him, or because he is on the move?  Gamers with an itchy trigger-finger will go batty with the buggy on-screen names for your team.  Sometimes they show up, and sometimes they do not.  It seems irrelevant where on the map the player is, the game randomly turns player names on and off.  The game does wisely support clans with 'unit' based games, but it feels like an unnecessary luxury given the lack of players online.

There is a solid game to be made based on a realistic view of the Army, but this is certainly not it.  The offline portion of the game is useless and the online portion of the game suffers from far too many issues, not the least of which is its dearth of players.
