Double XP Weekends Coming for Halo 3by Matt Gibbs
Bungie are trying to take out Call of Duty 4 in the Xbox Live Activity charts and have given us details on their March Playlist changes, which include "double XP weekends". The weekends will start this Thursday with the playlist Grifball (more details below), and as well as that changes have also been made to some of the downloadable content: Downloadable Content Changes
- Fixed map exploit on The Pit
- Fixed map exploit on Construct
- Fixed map exploit on Epitaph
- Reduced Ranked Big Team Battle "Large party" size to six players and increased Big Team threshold to two*
- Fixed Spartan Laser occasionally falling through map on Sandtrap
- Fixes to matchmaking to allow more even leveling for players
- Disabled Mixed Skill restrictions for RBTB and Team Slayer**
New PlaylistsWe're introducing two Weekend Hoppers DoubleXP playlists this month, with the first hopper launching Thursday, March 6 at NOON.
- Grifball, the game created by Burnie Burns of Red vs. Blue will be an unranked, weekend-long social playlist awarding DoubleXP to winning teams. We've slightly adjusted some of the rules for Grifball (unlimited round times make for unlimited griefing potential), but kept the game's core intact. You'll be able to go in with party configurations ranging from one to eight people. This playlist will be available from Thursday, March 6 at NOON until March 10 at NOON(all times Pacific Standard). I apparently forgot to mention that the Grifball hopper is being treated like a Tournament hopper -- a hopper where there will be prizes. Tournament prizes.
- Beginning March 20 at NOON will be the return of Team SWAT in the Social, DoubleXP variety. Team SWAT is an old Halo 2 gametype where players have no shields, increased body health and do not have the luxury of radar. This eight-player maximum hopper will be completely Team Slayer focused with the SWAT ruleset. This weekend playlist will be available from March 20 at NOON until March 23 at NOON(all times Pacific).

Bungie is nothing but hungry A**HOLES for money. Why didn't they have the option for double EXP. earlier, because they were beating COD4 in sales. Now that they are losing they throw this out( 2x EXP.) ONLY for MONEY Bungie really cares about the Halo fans pocket. why play a cartoon game running down a hall way shooting each other for a half hour before someone dies thats LAIM, and 5 year olds talkin outta there A** at 3:00 a.m. Play COD4 and or Rainbow Six, A REAL FPS |

YEAH lol Im gonna run out and get my copy of Halo 3 back from Gamestop so i can take advantage of the double XP weekends ROFL! because that was what I didnt like about the game to begin with right? I didnt earn enough XP on the weekends. Seriously though Bungie, should try making a more realistic modern combat FPS. I think they could do a good job with that. (leave out the super humans, shields and power ups) |

Lets see........ the problem Bungie is having is because of the fact that Halo 3 SUCKS. The Halo series only got worse with each game that was released. Double XP points? Oh, I'm for sure going to get on and play Halo 3 this weekend!!!! lol MAKE THE GAME FUN. "If you make it fun, they will come" |

I am confused on the point of offering Double XP playing Grifball if it is unranked? Halo 3 was all about having the high rank. Once you have the high rank it is just a matter of playing enough non-ranked matched to get the symbols. If they offer Double XP for ranked matches that would be better. |

cheap and lame, Double XP will will surely make all the munchkins happy but it seeems like a desperate plea from bungie to regain some status by pimping their "high standards" within the ranking system. |
